Has anyone seen heaven? The answer is Yes! A number of people have seen heaven! In the Bible, the disciple John writes about it in the last book of the Bible, Revelation. Several others have written about heaven and what they saw in the Bible.
Some people have had spiritual visions and others have had real encounters. In recent years (2004), Kevin Malarkey and his then six-year-old son, Alex, suffered a horrific car accident. Nayara Goncalves, was alone in the store in Pompano Beach, Florida when a man displayed a gun and demanded cash. Nayara, the store manager and a devout Christian, calmly said,
“You can do whatever you want, but I’m just going to talk to you about Jesus, my God, before you leave.”
I want to write about this robbery not because of the robber but because this young lady had a heart to evangelize to a desperate man. And the store was being robbed! What an opportunity to shine for Jesus. And Nayara chose to shine!
Take a look at the video. What would you have done in this situation? How do you handle tough situations that make you angry or afraid?
Shine for Jesus! Whatever situation you are going through, (And hopefully it’s not a robbery like Nayara Goncalve experienced!) let God enable you to talk to people about Jesus and the plans He has for them!If you are a Christian, take a stand and lovingly share the hope that awaits for those that do not know Him!
And remember the word of God at all times: Do not be afraid, the Lord your God is with you.
Do you need to stop being jealous of others? In the United States, we have a lot of “stuff.” Others have better jobs, better houses, better wives, or better cars then what you have!
One of the 10 Commandments is:
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
You aren’t jealous of your neighbor’s donkey but what about his car?
How often have you looked and longed for it?
If you know you need to stop bring jealous of others and possessions, we need to look at the root of the problem. Other 10 commandments state:
You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Learning to be content can be hard to do! But it’s not impossible when you have a relationship with the Almighty God of our universe! When you can appreciate the blessings God has given to you, you can become thankful for the abundance of things you have.
If you want to stop being jealous of others, pray and ask God to forgive you. Then, ask God to open your eyes to His many blessings in your life. Finally, thank God for meeting all your needs!!
