What is Easter About?

Some people talk about the Easter bunny and eggs. Many people go to church on Easter and it’s celebrated by millions of people.  So, what is Easter about? Obviously there is no Easter bunny,  so why do Christians celebrate this Easter holiday?

Good Friday is the day Christians believe Jesus Christ (the Messiah; the son of God) was crucified on a cross. Easter Sunday is the day Christians believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead!

So, what is the big deal?

1. You and I sin and deserve death as punishment.
2. God is perfect and holy.
3. We are unable to connect with God due to our own sins.

So what did God do? He loves us so much the Bible says:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. -John 3:16,17

What is Easter about? Christians celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. This means that death has been conquered! Easter is the day Jesus was resurrected from the dead!
